Motivational Enhancement Therapy

MET is a form of psycho-therapeutic intervention to evoke change in people with drug abuse/addiction. Therapist uses principles of motivation psychology and assists client to perceive discrepancy between where he or she is and where he or she wants to be. It does not attempt to guide or train the client step by step through recovery, rather it employs motivational strategies to mobilize client’s own change resources.
