He has also been awarded Prof. H. N. Murthy Oration Award for the Year 2006.
CAREER INTEREST: Third Generation Behaviour Therapies such as Mindfulness – Based or –Integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Metacognitive Therapy. He is also interested in stress management in different populations, cognitions and metacognitions in emotional disorders, treatment of sexual dysfunctions, pain management and psycho-oncology. He has conducted large number of workshops for mental health and other health professionals.
PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS: He is known for the publication of the first scientific study on Mindfulness or Vipassana Meditation in the area of mental health in India and the integration of the same in the routine clinical practice at NIMHANS.
